“8 PM EST” is easy to misread. The organizer may mean New York’s current local time, even during summer when New York uses a different UTC offset. Select a named timezone such as America/New_York and a date. The generator can then use the offset for that date.
Source timezone and viewer timezone do different jobs
The source timezone tells the generator how to interpret the date and time you enter. The viewer timezone tells the preview how to display the resulting instant. Changing the preview does not move the event.
On this tool, switching the source timezone also preserves the existing instant. The date and time fields update to show that instant in the new zone. If you want a different event time, edit the date and time after choosing the zone.
A concrete example
At 20:30 on 10 October 2026 in Shanghai, it is 12:30 UTC and 08:30 in New York. Tokyo shows 21:30. All four views refer to Unix second 1791635400 and use the same Discord code.
A viewer can see a different calendar date when an event is near midnight. That is expected. Use the full-date format F rather than a time-only format when the day matters.
Daylight saving can remove or repeat a time
In New York on 8 March 2026, the clock jumps from 01:59 to 03:00. A local event at 02:30 does not exist. The generator asks you to choose a valid time instead of silently shifting your event.
On 1 November 2026, New York’s 01:30 occurs twice. The first is at UTC−04:00 and the second at UTC−05:00. They are an hour apart. Choose the first or second occurrence in the tool before copying a code.
Not every timezone changes by a full hour, and not every place changes its clocks. Named timezones use the timezone data provided by your browser. Keep the browser updated, especially when a country changes its time rules.
“Tomorrow” follows the local calendar
The Tomorrow shortcut moves to the next calendar day in your selected source timezone and keeps the same local clock time. Across a daylight saving change, that can be 23 or 25 hours later. If the destination time is missing or repeated, the tool asks you to resolve it.
The +15 min and +1 hour shortcuts instead start from the current instant. They are useful for an event starting shortly, rather than moving your previously selected event.
Before you post
Check the source city, event date, and preview in a second timezone. Copy an announcement with both F and R. If someone sends you a raw code, use the converter to inspect its UTC value rather than guessing from the displayed text.
